Robot Calibration and Installation
Laser trackers were originally designed for calibration of robots, robots need to be calibrated after a set period due to the drift and wear in the encoders and working parts.
Robots are known to be repeatable but not entirely accurate, however laser trackers can be utilised to reduce the errors seen in the robot system. Robots bases and rails also required to be levelled prior to installation of the robot, this is again theideal application for the laser tracker.
3D Solutions conducts on-site robot calibrations for large OEM’s in the automotive and aerospace industries. We work along side the robot manufacturers and installers to provide measurement data to correct and calibrate the robots X,Y & Z positions to increase robot accuracy on the production line.
